Prom Spray Tanning — your questions answered
For prom photos, lighter is almost always better. I recommend our medium bespoke shade — it gives a noticeable, healthy glow without ever looking heavy or fake. We always do a quick consultation before spraying so the colour is right for your skin tone.
Yes — with Fake Bake Express you can rinse the cosmetic guide colour after just 1–4 hours, which means you can tan late morning and rinse before getting dressed. The tan then keeps deepening for another 6–8 hours, so you’ll be at your richest by the evening. Standard tans are best applied the day before prom.
Spray tanning uses DHA, a cosmetic ingredient that reacts with the surface of the skin — completely different from UV tanning. We’re happy to spray-tan under-18s with parental consent and would always recommend a parent is present at the appointment.

Not if you follow the aftercare. Apply your tan the day before prom, rinse off the cosmetic bronzer in the morning, and use a light moisturiser before dressing. I’ll talk you through it on the day.
