My Story
From working behind a desk to spray tan artist — 17 years on
I’m Tina, and I’ve been a high-end professional Spray Tan Artist since 2009. After 18 years working behind a desk, I decided it was time for a change. The tanning industry was where I wanted to explore — so I trained with Fake Bake HQ, bought my kit, and started out tanning friends and family.
I practised and practised until I felt I’d perfected my art, then welcomed my first paying clients that summer. Seventeen years on I run a very successful mobile tanning service. I started out in North London before moving to Hertfordshire, and the business has gone from strength to strength ever since.
My clients come from all walks of life, all sizes and all ages — my longest-standing client is now in her 80s and still regularly tanning. There have been a few celebrities along the way, and I even starred in a television advert.
I absolutely love my job. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the happiness a spray tan brings — making my clients feel more radiant and boosting their confidence.
